Oregon weekly newspaper lays off entire staff after discovering a former employee had embezzled $90,000 and left bills unpaid

The Eugene Weekly has ceased printing and laid off its staff after discovering 90,000 in payments to a former employee and more than $100,000 in unpaid bills. Despite the embezzlement, colleagues are working free of charge to help the paper recover, including by raising more than $10,000 on GoFundMe in one day.
