OpenAI, a research lab, revealed it disrupted a large-scale Iranian misinformation campaign targeting people in the US, UK, and elsewhere. The campaign involved thousands of accounts across multiple platforms, spreading false information about US politics, COVID-19, and the Israel-Palestine conflict. The operation was traced back to a group called the “Islamic Association of Students.”
