Vice President Kamala Harris’s strong debate performance against Donald Trump has sparked interest in clean energy stocks. The Invesco Solar ETF (TAN) soared more than 6% on Sept. 11. UBS has identified potential winners like Sunrun (RUN) and First Solar (FSLR) in an election where Harris wins.
Sunrun (RUN) is one of the biggest names in U.S. residential solar energy. The stock is up 35% over the past year and is nearly flat YTD. Sunrun became the first clean energy company to surpass 1 million residential solar customers.
Quanta Services, Inc. (PWR) provides specialized contracting services for utilities and renewables. The stock has gained 33.3% this year and analysts predict steady EPS growth of 20% for this fiscal year. With double-digit earnings and revenue growth expected annually, Quanta is set to thrive.
First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) is a key player in the solar panel market. The stock has jumped over 41% YTD. The company recently commissioned the largest solar manufacturing facility in the Western Hemisphere to enhance production capabilities. Analysts forecast 75% EPS growth this fiscal year and 55% in fiscal 2025.
