1. United Airlines partners with SpaceX’s Starlink to offer free inflight Wi-Fi on its hundreds of jetliners, aiming to attract higher paying customers like business travelers, following Delta Air Lines and Hawaiian Airlines who already offer free inflight Wi-Fi to loyalty program members.
2. SpaceX also previously made a deal with semi-private airline JSX, and United Airlines plans to have Starlink on more than 1,000 planes over the next several years, with the first passenger flights outfitted with the service starting early next year.
3. United Airlines commended SpaceX’s satellite service for providing internet access worldwide, even in remote locations previously unreachable by traditional signals. SpaceX has steadily expanded its Starlink network, with 6,000 satellites in orbit connecting over 3 million customers in 100 countries, including the aviation industry.
