Mastercard, a financial technology giant, processed $9.8 trillion in transactions in 2024, with an 11% increase from the previous year. In the U.S., $793 billion worth of transactions were processed in the fourth quarter of 2024, showing a 9% growth. However, the most rapid growth is coming from Mastercard’s foreign operations, with a 13% increase in transaction volume to nearly $1.8 trillion.

Outside the U.S., Mastercard charges transaction fees and conversion fees, creating a bigger upside for its foreign business. The company’s growth is strong, especially as digital transactions increase. The real opportunity for growth lies outside the U.S., making it crucial for investors to pay attention to Mastercard’s non-U.S. business for future expansion.
