Capital One acquires Discover Financial Services for $35.3 billion

Capital One Financial Corporation (COF) has completed its acquisition of Discover Financial Services, valued at $35.3 billion. The deal was approved by the Federal Reserve System, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Delaware State Bank Commissioner. Stockholders of both companies voted in favor of the acquisition in February 2025.
