U.S. power equipment maker GE Vernova is considering selling its industrial software business, Proficy, in a deal that could reach $1 billion. The company, which gained independence last year, is benefiting from a surge in domestic power demand, expected to hit record highs in 2025 due to expansions in AI, cryptocurrency data centers, and increased energy consumption. The asset could be sold for $900 million to $1 billion, with GE Vernova working with advisers and reaching out to potential buyers. GE Vernova has declined to comment on the matter.
