Hershey names Kirk Tanner as new CEO, succeeding Michele Buck; Tanner's appointment is neutral.
Hershey Co. announced Kirk Tanner as the new President and CEO, succeeding Michele Buck on August 18. Tanner is currently the CEO of Wendy’s, with CFO Ken Cook taking over as interim CEO. Tanner will leave Wendy’s on July 18, prompting a search for a permanent CEO. Buck will retire from Hershey this year but will assist Tanner during the transition. Tanner’s experience at PepsiCo, including as CEO of PepsiCo Beverages North America, makes him well-suited for the role. In pre-market trading, Hershey shares were down 0.3% at $175.10, and Wendy’s shares were down 0.4% at $11.25 on the Nasdaq.
