Siemens Invests €250m in Expanded Train Manufacturing Facility in Germany

Siemens expands its train manufacturing facility in Munich-Allach, Germany, investing €250m since 2023. The site doubles in size to over 100,000m2, producing Vectouro passenger cars and Vectron locomotives. It will create 500 new technical jobs and is projected to employ over 2,500 individuals by 2028.

Advanced technologies like robotics and AI enhance production and servicing at the facility. Siemens Mobility CEO Michael Peter highlights the site as a global competence center with an investment of €250m to boost innovative strength. The rail service centre will handle up to 80 locomotive overhauls and accidents repairs per year, ensuring high-quality service.

Siemens Mobility CFO Karl Blaim praises Munich-Allach as a beacon of innovation and German engineering. The facility showcases the successful manufacturing of premium products like Vectron locomotives. Last month, Siemens Mobility launched North America’s first battery-electric passenger locomotive, the Charger B+AC.
