Apple COO Jeff Williams Steps Down; Sabih Khan Takes Over Operations
Apple Inc. announced that Jeff Williams will step down as COO, with Sabih Khan taking over as Senior Vice President of Operations in a planned succession strategy. Williams will continue to oversee the design team and Apple Watch until his retirement later this year, with the design team transitioning to report directly to CEO Tim Cook thereafter. Khan, who has been at Apple for 30 years, has been in charge of the global supply chain for the past six years and joined the executive team in 2019. Before Apple, he worked at GE Plastics as an applications development engineer and key account technical leader in 1995.
