Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) faced setbacks in selling an AI chip to China due to U.S. government restrictions. The chip designed for China has lower performance to comply with export rules. U.S. officials deemed it too powerful, requiring a license for sale. Similar measures were taken against Nvidia last year.
