Shares of Olin Corporation dropped 4% after Chemours announced plans for a chlor-alkali facility at its TiO2 plant in Mississippi. The facility will have an annual capacity of 340,000 metric tons and produce caustic soda. Construction begins in 2026, with operations expected by 2028, posing competition for Olin in the market.

The new Chemours facility will utilize advanced technology to enhance energy efficiency, generating chlorine and caustic soda as byproducts for sale. Keybanc analysts warn of potential negative impact on Olin due to increased competition in the chlor-alkali market.
