Consumer confidence fell for the fourth consecutive month, causing the stock market to waver. The Dow dropped 24 points, the S&P 500 rose 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.1%. The Census Bureau reported a 7.2-point decrease in the consumer confidence index to 92.9 in March, below economists’ expectations of 94.5.
