‘American Idol’ star Paula Abdul sues producer Nigel Lythgoe for sexual assault By Reuters
From Investing.com:
Paula Abdul has filed a lawsuit accusing Nigel Lythgoe, a British television executive, of sexually assaulting her during her time as a judge on “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.” The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, alleges that Lythgoe groped Abdul’s breasts and genitals in an elevator and later assaulted her on a couch in his home. Abdul also claims that Lythgoe taunted her, saying that the statute of limitations had run out on the alleged assaults. The lawsuit was submitted before the deadline established under California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover-Up Accountability Act. This legislation allows individuals to bring certain sexual abuse lawsuits that would otherwise have fallen outside the statute of limitations.
