Australian Market Modestly Higher | Nasdaq

The Australian stock market is modestly higher on Thursday, pushing towards the 7,600 level and reaching a ten-month high. The S&P/ASX 200 is up 0.44 percent, with mining and technology stocks leading the gains across most sectors. Major miners, including BHP Group and Rio Tinto, are gaining almost 1 percent each. Big four banks, such as Commonwealth Bank and National Australia Bank, are also gaining almost 1 percent each. The Aussie dollar is trading at $0.686 on Thursday. On Wall Street, the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 all ended the day with modest gains, reaching new record highs. Major European markets also moved to the upside, and crude oil prices fell by 1.9 percent to $74.11 a barrel, after shipping companies have resumed travel via the Suez Canal and Red Sea.
