The newer Star Wars films are different and have failed to achieve the same box office success as “The Force Awakens.” However, Disney is forging ahead with television series, and it is gaining goodwill with established fans and newbies. The lessons from the revitalization of Star Wars could serve as a guide to flailing franchises like Marvel, DC, and Harry Potter. These franchises could learn how to balance a variety of content on different platforms to entertain both established fans and newcomers.
