Investing.com: Putin clears Rosbank’s purchase of Societe Generale’s Russian assets By Reuters

From Investing.com:

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree allowing Rosbank to purchase stakes in leading Russian companies owned by Societe Generale. The decree enables Rosbank to buy SocGen’s stakes in companies such as Rosneft, Gazprom, Norilsk Nickel, and Severstal. These transactions require special permission due to sanctions against Russia. SocGen’s stakes in these companies are relatively small, but the combined value is significant. Meanwhile, Societe Generale previously sold its local unit, Rosbank, to a Russian firm. Putin has criticized Western sanctions, and Russian state assets have been frozen in the West. On the other hand, Russian entrepreneurs have gained control of major Western assets in Russia.
