Many people look up public holidays and stock market schedules at the same time. The New York Stock Exchange next year follows the London Stock Exchange schedule, which mainly observes English bank holidays. The addition of extra holidays can affect trading hours. Trading usually starts at 8 am and ends at 4:30 pm on normal days, except during holidays. Scottish and Northern Irish holidays are different, and also trading hours for bond and currency markets. The London Stock Exchange’s website provides a full list of trading hours.
