Judge certifies Johnson & Johnson shareholder class action over talc disclosures By Reuters

A federal judge has allowed shareholders to pursue a class action lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson for fraudulently concealing that its talc products were contaminated with cancer-causing asbestos, citing six events that caused the stock to fall in 2017 and 2018. J&J denies the allegations, stating that information was not new or “corrected” its earlier disclosures. Shareholders hope to recover more money with a longer class period. The company also faces over 50,000 lawsuits over its talc products.
