Kadant Inc. announced it has agreed to acquire Key Knife Inc. and certain affiliates for about $156 million in cash. The deal is expected to close in early January 2024 and will be mainly financed through borrowings under Kadant’s revolving credit facility. Key Knife, founded in 1986, is a global supplier of engineered knife systems for wood product industries, with its headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon. The company has 141 employees primarily in the U.S. and Canada and had revenue of about $65 million in the past twelve months.
