Spirit Airlines puts 6-year-old alone on wrong flight for Christmas holiday
From Fortune:
A 6-year-old boy was put on the wrong flight and ended up 160 miles away from his intended destination in southwest Florida. The boy was supposed to visit his grandmother in Fort Myers but instead landed in Orlando. The grandmother was shocked when she arrived at the airport to pick up her grandson and was told he was not on the flight.
The boy was under the care and supervision of an airline employee the entire time, despite being incorrectly boarded on a flight to Orlando. Once the mistake was discovered, the family was notified. Spirit Airlines issued a statement apologizing for the incident and promised to conduct an internal investigation. The grandmother was relieved to hear from her grandson in Orlando and ultimately reunited with him.
The family’s Christmas plans were disrupted by the mix-up, but they were thankful that the boy was safe and well taken care of during the ordeal.
