Thai Bourse Expected To Remain Rangebound

The Thai stock market bounced higher on Thursday. The Stock Exchange of Thailand now sits just above the 1,415-point plateau and it’s likely to see little movement on Friday. The global forecast suggests little movement ahead of the end of the year. The European and U.S. markets were mixed. The Thai index added 5.42 points or 0.38 percent to finish at 1,415.85. Among the actives, Bangkok Bank soared 2.96 percent, while the technology stocks were weak.

The lead from Wall Street offers little clarity as the major averages opened higher but faded as the day progressed finished mixed and little changed. Additionally, first-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week. Crude oil prices fell sharply Thursday on easing concerns about trade disruptions after several shipping companies resumed transit via the Red Sea.
