Treasury yields end mostly higher but little changed on year after wild 2023
From Dow Jones & Company:
Treasury yields close out 2023 not far from where they started, reflecting a wild year that saw the 10-year rate top 5% before retreating on expectations for future Fed rate cuts. 10-year yield ended 2023 at 3.86%, 2-year yield finished at 4.248%, and the 30-year yield settled at 4.02%. It was the worst year for bonds on record as the Fed raised rates to curb inflation, but they retreated in anticipation of future rate cuts and fueling a year-end stock rally. Heading into 2024, Treasurys are expected to see less impact on the stock market as yields decline.
