Amazon’s streaming unit Twitch is planning to cut 35% of its staff, about 500 workers, as it remains unprofitable after nine years of Amazon’s ownership. CEO Dan Clancy announced plans to shut down operations in South Korea due to high operating costs and network fees. Last March, the company laid off more than 400 employees. The move is anticipated to be announced as soon as Wednesday. Twitch has not yet publicly commented on the news.
