As Biden Vs. Trump Matchup Shifts In Favor Of This Candidate, New Poll Data Shows What The President Should Do To Boost His Re-election Chances

From Nasdaq:

President Biden and Donald Trump lead their respective party’s primaries. A Gallup poll detailed the potential blueprint for Biden’s re-election, which has now shifted focus from the potential rematch between the two. According to Gallup, Biden’s job approval rating is the second worst among post-World War II presidents at 39.8% approval.

The survey found that 83% of Democrats approved of Biden’s job performance, compared to 35% of independents and 6% of Republicans. 50% of recent presidents saw their ratings improve in the fourth year of their presidency during their first terms. Presidents who successfully won reelection were close to or exceeded 50% approval during their fourth year in office, according to the survey.

Biden’s job approval rating is notably below the 50% mark, associated with re-election. Some presidents have seen sharp improvements in their fourth year and won a second term, but Biden’s third-year rating was worse than any of theirs, suggesting he has a bigger hill to climb.

Biden could make progress with his approval ratings if he can win over the minority of Democrats who do not approve of his performance as president and get more crucial independents to throw their weight behind him. The report suggests the key to Biden’s winning reelection lies in convincing a larger share of independents that he is deserving of a second term.
