At CES, Intel announces deal to buy Silicon Mobility SAS

Intel has agreed to purchase Silicon Mobility SAS, a company that develops system-on-chips for intelligent electric-vehicle energy management. This acquisition is part of Intel’s plan to enter the automotive market with its “AI everywhere strategy,” as announced at CES. Silicon Mobility SAS, a portfolio company of Cipio Partners and Capital-E, completed a $10 million Series B funding round in 2018. The purchase price was not disclosed in the Intel press release.
