Bank of America ‘letter of education’ puts teeth into return-to-office mandate

Bank of America has sent letters to employees threatening disciplinary action if they continue to work from home despite the bank’s return-to-office policy. The bank has not updated its policy despite a winter surge in COVID cases. Employees are expected to work in the office three to five days a week depending on their positions. Other major banks like Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Citigroup have also issued return-to-office mandates. The moves come as U.S. employees seek a more balanced work-life situation. A Ford study found that 77% of workers prioritize a balanced personal life over job advancement.
