An increasing number of billionaires, including Bill Gates, are calling for increased taxation of the ultra-wealthy to address global income inequality. Over 250 wealthy individuals have signed an open letter petitioning global leaders to implement a wealth tax, stating that it will not deprive their children or alter their standard of living.

Prominent figures such as Abigail Disney, Brian Cox, and Valerie Rockefeller emphasized the urgency of tackling economic inequality and warned of catastrophic consequences for society if decisive measures are not taken.

Part of the “Proud To Pay More” initiative, the open letter was accompanied by a comprehensive report and attributed part of the responsibility for climate change to the world’s wealthiest individuals.
