Boeing’s financials might not be hurt by latest 737 Max issues. Here’s why.

From Dow Jones & Company:

Alaska Airlines, United Airlines, and Turkish Airlines have grounded their Boeing 737 Max 9 airplanes after part of one jet tore away during an Alaska Airlines flight. Boeing’s stock fell 8.2% following the incident. However, some Wall Street analysts believe there will be a limited near-term impact on the financials of the jet maker. The Federal Aviation Administration ordered the temporary grounding of 171 Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft.

The affected fleet accounts for 16.1% of Alaska Airlines flights and 6.6% of United flights. Spirit AeroSystems’ stock fell 11% following the incident. European regulators also grounded the 737 Max 9 for inspection. American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Air Canada do not have any 737 Max 9s in their fleets.
