A cabin panel blowout forces an Alaska Airlines flight to make an emergency landing in the latest blow to Boeing’s 737 MAX aircraft. U.S. regulators ground certain planes for safety checks, following the grounding of all MAX-family jets nearly five years ago after fatal crashes.
Issues have plagued Boeing’s 737 MAX planes since 2018, including two fatal crashes and multiple delivery pauses. A $237.5 million settlement over safety oversight has been reached with Boeing company directors to settle lawsuits. The most recent incident occurred when an Alaskan Air flight made an emergency landing after a cabin panel blowout on a 737 MAX 9 plane.
