Bottled water could be putting tiny previously undetected fragments of plastic into your bloodstream and organs

A new study reveals that a typical one-liter bottle of water contains 240,000 plastic fragments on average, suggesting that plastic pollution may be underestimated. The bottled water could contain up to 100 times more plastic particles than previously estimated. Scientists have found nanoparticles in bottled water posing a greater threat to human health. Scientists plan to investigate nanoplastics in tap water and in snow samples collected from western Antarctica.
