The Canadian market ended positively on Friday, with the S&P/TSX Composite Index gaining 0.34% and climbing 0.25% for the week. Iamgold Corp, Centerra Gold, and Orla Mining were the top gainers in the materials index, with gains between 7.3% and 10.5%. Technology and energy stocks also saw gains of 2-5%, led by Enghouse Systems and Advantage Oil & Gas.

Investors digested U.S. producer price inflation data and earnings updates from major U.S. banks, contributing to the market’s performance and direction. Despite coming off early highs, the market ended the session on a positive note, lifted by gains in various sectors.
