McDonald’s new Starbucks competitor, CosMc’s, is a hit with the first location in Bolingbrook, Ill receiving more than twice as many visits as a typical McDonald’s. Data from Placer.ai shows that new specialty drinks are a hit, with the site experiencing more traffic than anticipated.
Right now, there’s just one CosMc’s, but another 10 locations are scheduled to open later this year and it looks like there could be more stores in the future according to Placer.ai. Customers lined up as early as 3:30 am and waited up to three hours for drinks and snacks.

CosMc’s made a grand entrance with a drive-through-only location that focuses on specialty drinks and new menu items—the site seems to have made a big splash with consumers.
McDonald’s new coffee concept includes new drink options like the sour cherry energy burst, berry hibiscus sour-ade, and the island pick-me-up punch—this is in addition to some unique sandwiches such as the spicy queso and “Creamy avocado tomatillo sandwich”
