U.S. stocks are rising this week as investors brace themselves for major earnings and economic news. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5% to 38,312, the S&P 500 rose 0.7% to 4,925, and the Nasdaq Composite surged 1.1% to 15,625. Notably, a total of $760 billion is expected to be borrowed in the first quarter, $55 billion less then predicted. Several companies, including SoFi Technologies Inc. and Tesla Inc., are in the news after reporting significant financial news. This week will see big earnings from Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft, with investors also keeping an eye on the Fed’s interest-rate decision and jobs market data.
