From Dow Jones & Company:
Carrefour, one of the world’s largest supermarket chains, has removed PepsiCo products due to high prices. The products include Doritos, Lays chips, Pepsi, 7-Up, Lipton tea, and Quaker foods. Signs on shelves apologize for the inconvenience, attributing the decision to “unacceptable price increases.” This move reflects the ongoing battle between food producers and retailers in Europe over rising prices. In the earnings call in October, PepsiCo expected prices to remain elevated in 2024 and continued to report strong revenue growth. Both PepsiCo and Carrefour have yet to respond to comments on the matter.
