Finally! Stars glisten on silver carpet at strike-delayed Emmys

From NASDAQ:

Actors gathered in Los Angeles for the annual Primetime Emmy awards. The ceremony was postponed due to labor disputes and started four months later than usual. HBO’s “Succession” had 27 nominations. The award gala was aired live on Fox, with red carpet appearances from stars of other critically acclaimed shows. “Succession” was favored to win the best drama series award. Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” was also in consideration.

Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” and Disney’s “The Bear” were the front runners in the comedy category. Nearly two-thirds of the Emmy-nominated shows came from streaming platforms, their highest share ever. This year’s 75th Emmys planned to honor classic TV shows and commemorate their iconic moments. NBC’s “Cheers,” HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” and “The Sopranos,” CBS’s “All in the Family,” and “I Love Lucy” are among the celebrated shows.

The 75th Emmys coincide with the U.S. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and the Iowa caucuses. “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson hosted the ceremonies, run by an all-African American production team for the first time.
