Getty Images launched Generative AI by iStock, a safe and affordable image generation service powered by NVIDIA Picasso. The service allows designers to create ready-to-license visuals with legal protection and usage rights. Inpainting and outpainting APIs are also available, with a replace feature coming soon, giving users powerful control over their generated images.

Generative AI by iStock is trained on Getty Images’ vast library and allows users to generate photo-quality images at up to 4K resolution using simple text prompts. The new editing APIs provide customers with powerful control over their images, allowing them to mask and fill regions with specific objects, as well as expand images to fit various aspect ratios.

NVIDIA Picasso allows developers to train and deploy generative AI models tailored to their visual design requirements. Getty Images trained a bespoke Edify image generator based on its catalog of licensed images and videos to power the Generative AI by iStock service, enabling customers to use the service online and access advanced editing features via APIs.
