Honda considers $14 bln plan for EV production in Canada -Nikkei

Honda Motor Co is considering a $13.83 billion electric vehicle plant in Canada, possibly including battery production. This would be Honda’s largest investment yet. The automaker plans to decide on a location by the end of the year, with potential production starting in 2028. Partnering with LG Energy Solution, Honda announced plans for a $4.4 billion battery plant in Ohio. In October 2023, Honda and General Motors ended a plan to jointly develop affordable electric vehicles. Canada’s industry minister’s office expressed enthusiasm for the potential investment, citing Canada’s reputation as a green supplier and EV leader.
