Icelandair signs contracts for two additional Airbus

Icelandair and CDB Aviation have signed long-term lease agreements for two new Airbus A321LR aircraft, scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2025. This follows a contract previously signed with Airbus for up to 25 Airbus A321XLR aircraft in July 2023 as well as securing lease agreements for five new A321LR aircraft. These new Airbus A321LR and XLR planes will replace Icelandair’s fleet of Boeing 757s, with A321LR deliveries starting later this year and XLR deliveries beginning in 2029. The Icelandair president and CEO, Bogi Nils Bogason, expressed excitement for the two new aircraft and the opportunities they will bring for the company.
