Former President Donald Trump is currently leading in polls for the 2024 GOP presidential race and is set to be a front-runner in Iowa, where the first-in-the-nation caucuses are due to take place on Monday. Trump also has a significant lead in polls over rivals such as Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis. The expectation is that Trump needs at least 50% support among Iowa GOP voters to gain momentum going forward. Other candidates such as Haley and DeSantis are relying on potential wins in upcoming states to build momentum. Meanwhile, Wednesday’s debate will feature only DeSantis and Haley, as Trump plans to hold his own town hall. DeSantis, Haley, and Trump have also released their economic plans, with focused policies on addressing inflation, spending, and taxation.
