Japan stocks higher at close of trade; Nikkei 225 up 0.84% By Investing.com

Japan stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Nikkei 225 up 0.84%. The best performers were Nitto Denko Co, Mazda Motor Corp, and Inpex Corp, while Rakuten Inc, Hitachi Construction Machinery Co, and Nippon Paper Industries Co. were the worst performers. The Tokyo Stock Exchange saw more rising stocks than declining ones, with 2694 to 1007. The Nikkei 225 options implied volatility rose by 1.60%. Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.37% to $78.30 a barrel, with Brent oil for April delivery also up by 0.37% to $83.26 a barrel. The April Gold Futures contract rose by 0.45% to $2,045.35 a troy ounce. The USD/JPY was down 0.15% to 147.94, while the EUR/JPY fell by 0.16% to 160.41. The US Dollar Index Futures was up by 0.07% at 103.31. Overall, it was a positive day for the Japanese stock market.
