Jewish, Muslim Partners Open First Cannabis Shop On Staten Island: They’ll ‘Show What Happens’ When People Work Together

From Nasdaq:

Staten Island will be home to its first legal weed shop, run by an unlikely team of two men from the Jewish and Muslim faiths. Shlomo Weinstock and his partner, Elgaly, aim to promote unity and calm tensions amidst the Hamas-Israel war in New York.

The spacious Flowery dispensary will be located in Staten Island, New York and is the result of a lease agreement with the New York State Dormitory Authority. Weinstock and Elgaly overcame legal roadblocks to finally open their shop, providing a new retail experience for the island.

Staten Island’s first legal weed shop, The Flowery, was set to open last August but got delayed due to a lawsuit that froze license approvals for months. Finally, after settling the case in late December, the duo is excited to open their shop and have it ready for business in the near future.
