Lower Open Predicted For Indonesia Stock Market

The Indonesia stock market has shown some positive movement recently and sits just above the 7,240-point mark. However, global forecasts for the Asian markets are negative as the European and U.S. markets were down. The JCI finished slightly higher on Tuesday with a 0.25 percent gain, following positive performances from the financial and resource sectors. Wall Street also closed lower, with the Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 all ending in the red. Investors also reacted to disappointing quarterly earnings updates from major companies such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. In economic news, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported that the Empire State Manufacturing Index plunged to -43.7 in January. Oil futures also settled lower as a stronger dollar and weather forecasts weighed on oil prices.
