Luxury companies are unable to stop the booming secondhand trade in their products. Shoppers have spent $1.3 trillion on new luxury items over the past four years, and some of those items end up on secondhand websites. Online luxury resellers like The RealReal and Vestiaire Collective have made it easy for millions to sell their designer goods for cash. This trend is benefiting fashionistas and investors.
