Microsoft Briefly Surpasses Apple To Become World’s Most Valuable Company

From Nasdaq:

Microsoft Corp. briefly becomes the world’s largest company by market value, overtaking Apple Inc. Several exchanges saw Microsoft surpass Apple’s market value of $2.87 trillion, primarily due to Apple’s declining stock and concerns about iPhone sales and an antitrust case from US Justice Department.

Microsoft has been gaining on stock indices with a 57 percent increase in shares compared to Apple’s 48 percent in 2023, driven by its growth in AI business.

Despite Microsoft’s occasional surges, Apple is preparing to launch its new Vision Pro headset next month, which would mark a new era of “spatial computing” by utilizing 3D graphics and hand gestures.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft briefly surpassed Apple in the stock market. Similar fluctuations occurred in 2018 and 2021 due to supply chain shortages affecting iPhone sales.
