Microsoft (MSFT) Q2 earnings report 2024
From CNBC:
Microsoft’s fiscal second-quarter results have caused shares to plummet by 2% in after-hours trading, despite beating analysts’ estimates. Solid earnings of $2.93 per share and $62.02 billion in revenue contributed to a 17.6% year-over-year increase. Revenue from Azure and other cloud services grew by 30% and the number of Azure AI customers reached 53,000. On the downside, layoffs have continued, with nearly 700 job losses at LinkedIn in October and an additional 1,900 in Microsoft’s gaming unit. Despite layoffs and falling after-hours stock price, Microsoft shares have risen about 9% so far in 2024.
