Elon Musk’s attempt to appeal to YouTube star MrBeast to post videos on X, his newly owned social media platform, was swiftly rejected. Despite Musk’s numerous efforts to boost interest in X, creators like MrBeast, who earned an estimated $82 million in 2023, remain hesitant to make the platform their primary outlet.

The platform has paid out nearly $20 million to its “creator community,” but this is just a fraction of what top creators like MrBeast earn on larger platforms. In addition, the payouts have faced delays in the past and come with strings attached. Musk also announced that payouts would be dropping later than expected due to high demand from content creators.

Furthermore, Fidelity’s revaluation report claims that X is worth 71.5% less than the $44 billion Musk paid for it, casting doubt on the platform’s future. Despite Musk’s determination to keep X afloat, this news presents yet another challenge for the platform in 2024.
