NTSB says no passengers seated near Boeing 737 MAX 9 fuselage that failed By Reuters

An Alaskan Airlines flight faced an emergency landing after a Boeing 737 MAX 9 suffered depressurization, forcing pilots to make an emergency landing, Friday. The FAA grounded 171 aircraft for safety checks. The investigation is ongoing and maintenance records, door components and the pressurization system will be looked at. Alaska Air stopped flight operations for 18 MAX 9 planes. The company said they are in discussions with the FAA. United Airlines and Alaska Air are the only US carriers affected by the groundings. The terminated travel is expected to last until mid-week. Boeing is awaiting certification for its smaller MAX 7 and larger MAX 10.
