OpenAI’s ChatGPT violates EU data privacy rules: Italian regulator

Italian regulators accused OpenAI’s ChatGPT of breach of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and demanded it fulfill conditions within 30 days to lift the ban applied due to data privacy issues. OpenAI rejected the allegations and said it wants its AI systems to learn about the world and not private individuals. The US FTC also opened an inquiry into AI startups bankrolled by Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. EU and Britain are examining Microsoft’s OpenAI investments. Meanwhile, EU is finalizing its groundbreaking AI Act, the world’s first rulebook for AI.
