Sensex, Nifty Gain As Bond Yields Ease

Indian shares opened higher on Tuesday as bond yields eased and oil prices fell, sparking hopes of lower inflation and interest rate cuts. The S&P BSE Sensex was up 0.6 percent, and the NSE Nifty index rose 0.7 percent in early trading. IT stocks like LTIMindTree and Wipro saw gains of around 2 percent. Bajaj Auto surged 2.4 percent following board approval for a Rs 4,000-crore share buyback. Adani Group announced plans to invest more than Rs 42,700 crore in various projects in Tamil Nadu. Zee Entertainment Enterprises dropped 11 percent after reports that its $10 billion merger pact with Sony Group may be called off. BEML gained 0.8 percent after securing a Rs 329.87 crore order from the Defence Ministry, while Tata Motors rose over 1 percent thanks to a 27 percent rise in total wholesales reported by its JLR unit in the third quarter ended December.
